Thanks for the jubilation
Mid my aging acclimation.
I paused for a while
To laugh and to smile
While avoiding cancellation.
It was my day of gaining age
In a world where youth is the rage.
I exercised – ate food good –
Those things of healthy should,
And did again the reaper assuage.
Life’s celebration will continue
With certainly much less ballyhoo.
For I have been blessed,
And will strive for my best
To live well the days I accrue.
Another year I am given
To learn how to be liv’n.
I will write as I am able
Penning prose and fable
And hope to be forgiven.
Thank you all for your kind messages,
~ Michael
